Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia's trade balance recorded a surplus of 35.34 billion USD throughout 2021, the highest in the past 15 years, according to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).
Speaking at a press conference on January 17, head of the BPS Margo Yuwono said Indonesia’s exports reached 231.54 billion USD, up 41.88 percent annually while imports hit 196.19 billion USD, up 38.59 percent.
Several sectors saw high trade surplus, including mining, manufacturing, oil and gas, and agriculture.
Yuwono said trade surplus in October was the highest, amounting to 5.74 billion USD while the figure in December was 1.02 billion USD./.
