China-Thailand Business Matchmaking Conference was held in Bangkok, Thailand on May 12, 2023. The conference was co-organized by China-ASEAN Business Council, RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee, Dezhou Municipal People’s Government and Thailand-China Business Council.

Xu Ningning, Chairman of RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee and Executive President of China-ASEAN Business Council, said at the opening ceremony that ten-plus years has passed since the establishment of China-Thailand comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. The past decade has witnessed a profound development of the bilateral relations, which is further elevated to a new stage by the Belt and Road Initiative. China has been Thailand’s largest trading partner for 10 consecutive years, the largest export market for agricultural products, the main source of foreign investment, and the largest source of tourists for Thailand. The number of participants in the matchmaking conference exceeds expectations, reflecting the desire for cooperation from the Thai business community and all relevant parties. It is believed that the meeting will achieve the expected goals.

Chairman of Thai-Chinese Friendship Association and former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand Korn Dapparansi, Deputy Mayor of Dezhou City Chen Xiaoqiang, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand Zhang Xiaoxiao, Chairman of the Thailand-China Business Council and well-known Thai entrepreneur Vikrom Kromadit, Deputy Secretary General of Thailand Board of lnvestment Sonklin Ploymee, Deputy Secretary General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand Tachaphol Kanjanakul, and Deputy Director General of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand Arada Fuangtong, delivered remarks successively. Representatives from Chinese and Thai companies made project promotions respectively.

Yanyong Puangraj, former Deputy Commerce Minister of Thailand, Dr. Witoon Simachokedee, Advisor to the Minister of Industry and Former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Li Feng, Chief Representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Thailand, Zhang Jing, Executive Vice Chairperson of Beijing Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, representatives of the Thai business community and entrepreneurs, and key enterprises in Dezhou, altogether more than 200 participants attended the matchmaking conference.
